The Cawley Studio British Velvet Imagen Vest is a versatile wardrobe staple. 

The collarless vest can be worn open as a gilet, or closed as a waistcoat over t-shirts or long sleeves. We also love it worn by itself as a statement piece. The five horn buttons close the Imagen Vest to halfway, giving the opportunity to style with high-waisted bottoms or to show off a knitted jumper or crisp shirt underneath. 

The body is a luxurious velvet which is perfect for Autum and Winter layering. The vest is finished with silk piping which also makes up the buttonholes and pocket detailing. 

Each Cawley Studio garment is individually hand cut and made in London, UK, honouring the crafts of pattern cutting and tailoring. 

Cawley Studio garments are designed for a generous, relaxed fit - making them perfect for light summer outfits, as well as transitional layering pieces.

The Imagen Vest fits true to size and allows for a light layer underneath. We recommend going for your usual size or if you want to wear a bigger layer underneath, go up a size for extra room.

About the brand

Hannah Cawley founded her brand in 2017, with the aim of creating everyday clothes that celebrate quality craftsmanship, natural fabrics and British manufacturing. Each garment is designed to be functional, timeless and lasting and every piece is hand cut and made in London.

Paring back to only two collections per year, Hannah always begins with fabrics. Either looking to previous collections to see what can be carried forward - testament to the timelessness of her collections - or looking to the vintage Victorian garments she collects for inspiration.

Standard shipping 3-5 working days: Flat rate fee of £4.99 across all orders

Europe & International shipping

We do not ship outside of the UK due to the carbon emissions associated with doing so. 

We believe in supporting local businesses, so if you are outside of the UK and would like to buy one of our products, we would encourage you to research craftspeople local to you. 


In Store Purchases

All in-store purchases are non-refundable. 

Within 7 days, we can offer an exchange for item(s) of the same value, or a credit note. Credit notes are valid for 12 months from issue date and will be sent to the customer via email.

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact us at If your return is accepted, we will send you instructions on how and where to send your package. You will be responsible for the cost of returning the item to us. We cannot accept responsibility for items lost in transit being returned, so recommend you use a tracked or signed postal service to avoid issue. We will also require proof of postage. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. Shipping costs will not be refunded.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue.

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned and sales are final;

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
