Homework candles are hand poured in small batches in their London workshop using a natural blend of coconut and soy wax. They have a cotton wick and are scented with natural essential oils and phthalate, paraben and toxin-free fragrance oils.


Chun Tian - floral, citrus notes of jasmine, neroli, bergamot and coriander with a base of cedar wood.

Bai San - a woody, smoky blend containing sandalwood, Chinese cedar and cade creates the image of incense burning in a tranquil temple.

Mas Santo - a fresh, light and uplifting blend of tomato vine, basil and petitgrain with a base of woody, balsamic Atlas cedar.

Haze - a sweet green blend of tobacco, clary sage and ho leaf.

About the brand

Stephanie Hannington-Suen founded Homework in 2019. Based in London, her brand is inspired in part by her upbringing surrounded by Traditional Chinese Medicine, as well as utilising her design experience and understanding of the healing power of nature.

Stephanie founded Homework as a way to pay homage to her parents and everything she had learned from them. Applying a modern approach to ancient Chinese philosophies, Homework creates a range of natural skincare and toxin free home fragrances.

Homework formulate and manufacture all of their products in small batches in their studio in South East London. Thoughtfully packaged in either recycled card or steel tins made using solar energy, Stephanie ensures the balance between creating beautiful products and protecting the planet is always prioritised.

Standard shipping 3-5 working days: Flat rate fee of £4.99 across all orders

Express shipping 1-2 working days: Premium fee of £7.99 across all orders

Europe & International shipping

We do not ship outside of the UK due to the carbon emissions associated with doing so. 

We believe in supporting local businesses, so if you are outside of the UK and would like to buy one of our products, we would encourage you to research craftspeople local to you. 


In Store Purchases

All in-store purchases are non-refundable. 

Within 7 days, we can offer an exchange for item(s) of the same value, or a credit note. Credit notes are valid for 12 months from issue date and will be sent to the customer via email.

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact us at If your return is accepted, we will send you instructions on how and where to send your package. You will be responsible for the cost of returning the item to us. We cannot accept responsibility for items lost in transit being returned, so recommend you use a tracked or signed postal service to avoid issue. We will also require proof of postage. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. Shipping costs will not be refunded.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue.

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned and sales are final;

  • Custom products (such as special orders or personalised items),
  • Original artworks
  • Personal care goods (such as beauty products),
  • Earrings,
  • Hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases,

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
