MIMMO Studios was founded in 2021 by Lil Gardiner, a former visual merchandiser and curator with a passion for thoughtful design and independent makers. After years of working within traditional retail, Lil became increasingly aware of its limitations, particularly its reliance on mass production and lack of connection between maker and customer. MIMMO Studios was born from a desire to do things differently.

At its core, MIMMO Studios is a carefully curated platform that champions independent designers and artisans. Each product is intentionally selected for its innovation, timelessness, and commitment to low-waste production. The focus is on meaningful objects with a story, pieces that are made to last, not to follow trends.

Lil’s journey to founding MIMMO Studios has been anything but linear. From working as an ice-cream lady to a lighthouse assistant, baker, and tailor, each role has shaped her perspective and appreciation for craftsmanship, creativity, and community. Both consciously and unconsciously, she has been building towards creating her own business for many years.

MIMMO Studios is a culmination of those experiences, a space where design, sustainability, and storytelling come together. Lil hopes to continue growing a platform that supports makers, fosters community, and contributes positively to both people and the planet.
