Timelessly versatile in colour and style, Shiv Textiles’ Cliodhna cushion reinvigorates weaving techniques popularised centuries ago and modernises them to create beautiful, bespoke designs for the contemporary home.

Shiv herself hand-weaves the cushions in her Brighton studio, rescuing fabrics from going to landfill and imbuing in them a new lease of life through her practice. Using a cross-hatched weave and striking orange and navy blue colours, the Cliodhna symbolises conscious craftsmanship in the face of the wasteful mainstream fashion and textile industry.

Woven from a blend of repurposed Lambswool and Mohair and backed with butter-soft upcycled velvet, this cushion welcomes not only stylish comfort to your home but also a bid to change the future of textile waste. At MIMMO Studios, we love the contrasting textures of the Cliodhna cushion, with each side offering a different mood for your home.

Pair your Cliodhna cushion with others from Shiv’s collection, like the Clodagh Rectangle or the Aoife cushion, to ensure your living space shines as bright as it should.

About the brand

Brighton-based Shiv Textiles was founded by Sibohan Martin in 2017. After working as an intern for big-name brands in the fashion and textiles industry, Shiv set out to tackle the issue of waste by rescuing deadstock yarns, zips, threads and buttons. Adding her creative flair and talent, she designs her range based on what she gathers from the factories and mills she works with, breathing life back into what would otherwise be sent to landfill.

Something truly special about Shiv Textiles is that Shiv herself weaves all the fabric that makes up her collections by hand on a loom in her Brighton Studio.

“Instead of following trends, our cushions and throws, scarves and purses are designed to transcend the seasons and made to last. Sustainability never goes out of style.”
