Hai Sustainability

Hai are proud to be able to say that all silk used in each collection is sustainably produced in small quantities in China in the heart of the historical silk producing city of Suzhou, as well as locations across India.

Hai produce items in small quantities to avoid overproduction, and in locations that make sense to each product, always honouring the foundations of the brand, while looking for the most sustainable and luxurious means of production as our product offering grows.

Care Instructions

All Hai items are made using silk. The great flow and beauty of this fabric naturally leads to great delicacy in its fibres, therefore it’s key to the prolonging of its life that you handle your items with care and wash as infrequently as possible.

Hand-wash in cool water with a small amount of delicate natural detergent
Leave to bath for 5-10 minutes
Rinse well with fresh cool water
Squeeze out extra moisture by carefully rolling in a towel
Leave on top of a fresh towel or, for clothing, hang to dry away from sun light and direct heat

Silk Don’ts:
Never boil
Never bleach
Never wring out
Never rub vigorously

*If a mark or stain occurs rub lightly with a sponge or a brush. If the mark doesn’t lift, seek out a dry-cleaner with experience cleaning silk and ensure they are informed what caused the stain.

Hai is an Islington, UK-based womenswear and accessories brand that’s built a name for itself on the celebration of silky feminine silhouettes.

Evolving into a team of talented designers and craftspeople in their London atelier, Hai has opened pop-up stores far and wide in New York, London and Seoul. All of Hai’s pieces “follow the logic of their own wardrobes”, on the quest to design garments that can be worn again and again that don’t adhere to the damaging patterns of fast fashion consumption.

Hai produces all of their silks in small quantities in Suzhou, China, the city of historical silk textile production, both acknowledging the traditional heritage of the fabric and also fighting overproduction in the process. They are sure to honour the foundations of the brand by continually searching for the most conscious and luxurious means of manufacturing as Hai grows.

We do not ship outside of the UK due to the carbon emissions associated with doing so.

In Store Purchases

All in-store purchases are non-refundable. 

Within 7 days, we can offer an exchange for item(s) of the same value, or a credit note. Credit notes are valid for 12 months from issue date and will be sent to the customer via email.

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact us at If your return is accepted, we will send you instructions on how and where to send your package. You will be responsible for the cost of returning the item to us. We cannot accept responsibility for items lost in transit being returned, so recommend you use a tracked or signed postal service to avoid issue. We will also require proof of postage. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. Shipping costs will not be refunded.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue.

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
