The Wool Gatherers Workshop introduces the Handwoven Shepherds Check Wool Scarf, a sensorial luxurious Winter essential with a rich history rooted in Dartmoor, UK.

Inspired by the classic checked pattern used on scarves by shepherds for hundreds of years, the Handwoven Shepherds Check Wool Scarf is an ode to the abundant heritage of British sheep rearing and is aptly made from Dartmoor Ecru Blue-faced Leicester, Gotland and Alpaca Wool. Exquisitely neutral in colour and beautifully textured, this scarf adds dimension to any outfit with ease.

The Wool Gatherers Workshop dutifully weaves each of their Shepherds Check Wool Scarves in collaboration with Laura Woodhouse in London, UK, centring local production and the conscious sourcing of materials at the heart of their business.

We adore the ample heritage poured into each Handwoven Shepherds Check Scarf; the quest for conscious, local production that underpins each piece by the Wool Gatherers Workshop is greatly admired at MIMMO Studios. Have a little peek at our other wintery pieces that are sure to keep you nice and toasty, like Ound’s Superfine Merino Tala Jumper or Cawley Studio’s Sheepskin Suede Mittens.

About the brand

Based in Chagford, Dartmoor, The Wool Gatherers are makers of consciously designed knitwear that uses locally sourced Dartmoor, UK wool.

An investigative project by nature, The Wool Gatherers have a personal commitment to learning about the production of wool itself, from spinning, weaving and knitting, supporting local Devonshire farmers in the process. Crafting jumpers, vests, scarves and hats, the brand takes pride in fashioning signature knitwear, lovingly crafted to last a lifetime.

Zoë, founder of the brand, takes a holistic approach to processes and materials at The Wool Gatherers, honouring the historic practice in Dartmoor by paying fair prices to local farming communities in this area and supporting the continuation of such heritage-rich practices in the UK.
